Marquise Escher Violin
TEST
TEST
The CodaBow Marquise Escher is a flawless union of bow and artist: a master-level carbon fiber violin bow that offers exquisite handling and expressive sound. Both eye-catching and responsive, the Escher fascinates with its stylish shape and opulent sound — not unlike the 1934 Oscar-winning song, “The Continental” — it’s “something daring, a way of dancing that’s really ‘entre nous’.”
Every part of the CodaBow Escher that is prone to wear (such as the button bearings and tip plate and wedge) is carefully engineered utilizing cutting-edge composite materials to ensure a lifetime of worry-free violin play.
A refined response to the scarcity of the world's endangered instrument-grade ebony supply, Xebony® is a proprietary blend of natural fibers and resin that results in stately shine and authentic grain, impressing violin players and bow makers alike. More resilient than natural ebony, Xebony® provides the player reassurance while helping conserve endangered resources.
The CodaBow Escher carbon fiber violin bow bares a GlobalBow® designation, guaranteeing it contains no regulated, endangered, or monitored wildlife or fauna so you can confidently pass through international Customs with your violin bow.
The unidirectional carbon fibers in the CodaBow Escher extend continuously from button to tip on both sides of the shaft. This cutting-edge technology lets the musician sense the violin bow's full-length dynamics and response in a new way, mirroring the grain pattern found in the finest Pernambuco bows
The best violin bows contain more than quality carbon fiber. The Escher features a Natural Acoustic Core comprised of a blend of organic plant fibers to help produce a sophisticated, rich sound.

It’s on the lighter side but great balance and feels just right in my hand. It’s much easier to control than my previous bows. Easier time through bariolage, spicatto and much finer dynamic control from a soft pianissimo to forte, though forte and fortissimo since it’s lighter I have to work it a littler harder to draw that out than I’m used to. I’ll definitely take that trade for control and balance. Just for reference I’ve been playing for 22 years and have a decent violin but been using entry level $300-$400 wood bows. Better late than never I guess to upgrade to a decent bow!
I purchased this bow as a secondary, it may well become my primary. It pulls a beautiful resonance from my e string with more core to the tone than from my primary bow. It also has a nice warm chewy sound the g and d strings. The action is subtle and well balanced. I’m more than pleased. Well worth the price.
Even as an intermediate player, I never knew that a good bow is just as important as the instrument itself. If I was upgrading, I was upgrading big so I bought the Escher. It is really beautiful in person and matches my viola perfectly. Wow! This bow. I have so much control over the projection of my viola. It is sensitive and responsive to anything you try to throw at it. My crunchy spiccatos are now velvety smooth. I 100% recommend it no matter professional or hobbyist.
